Step 1: Before you begin uploading voting papers

You should have two images – one for your ballot paper, and one for your declaration. Don’t break sections of a single document into multiple images.
Each image should include the whole document you’ve scanned or photographed. Make sure you haven’t cut off any information.
Your images must be clear and readable when zoomed in.
Make sure the same 7-digit number is clearly readable on top of each document.

Please note: You are responsible for the quality and readability of the images. The Electoral Commission cannot make any enhancements to them. Do not submit your voting papers multiple times as it is an offence to vote more than once.

Step 2: Check the signatures on your voting papers

Please check your signature follows the requirements below before you upload.

Please note: You and your witness must sign your declaration form for your vote to count.

Step 3: Check the scans or photographs of your voting papers

Please check your voting papers meet the requirements below before you upload.

Each of your documents must be complete and clearly readable. The 7-digit number must be visible and must be the same on each document.

Step 4: Upload voting papers

Please select the voting papers you want to upload. You’ll be able to check them before you submit your vote. Your files won't be submitted until you click the "submit" button.

You must submit your files before 7pm, Saturday 7 November 2026 (NZ time).

Step 5: Submitting your vote

Once you select the submit button below, your vote will be transmitted.

Please make sure you only submit your voting papers once. Submitting voting papers more than once may mean your vote does not count.

By submitting your voting papers, you agree:

You are currently overseas or have been approved by the Chief Electoral Officer to vote as a remote voter under Part 4 of the Electoral Regulations 1996.
You and your witness have signed the paper with your own handwritten signature.
You have checked the images you’ve uploaded, and are satisfied that they are clear, and readable and meet the requirements of this upload service.
You are eligible to vote in New Zealand parliamentary elections and are submitting your voting papers only once.
