If you are unable to upgrade to a newer browser, please return your voting paper from overseas in one of the following ways:

  • Fax your voting paper to the Electoral Commission (+64 4 494 2300)
  • Post your voting paper to the Electoral Commission

Voters who are located overseas or in certain remote locations can return their voting paper using this upload service for the 2022 Hamilton West electorate by-election.


Voters are eligible to return their voting papers using this service if they:

  • Are overseas during the voting period; or
  • Have been directed by the Electoral Commission to use the upload service because you are a remote voter, as defined by the Electoral Act 1993.

The Electoral Commission has provided a system to allow the secure electronic transmission of your voting paper(s).

To proceed please read the following terms and conditions carefully

  1. You may only use this system if you are currently overseas or have been directed by the Electoral Commission as a remote voter.
  2. You are responsible for ensuring the image you have uploaded can be read. The Commission cannot make any enhancements to the image.
  3. The Commission cannot guarantee the security of the computers, scanners and other devices or networks used by you to upload your voting paper.

If you receive a confirmation message, your upload has been successful. If you have any problems, refer to the 'Having Trouble?' box below.
